HUMC YOUTH GROUP NEWS
The Youth Group spring retreat will be at Camp Watonka, June 4th and 5th . It starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 4th with dinner. Pick-up is Saturday afternoon at 3:30. If you are planning to attend, contact Barbara Boogertman, 226-0315. Permission slips are required.
Vacation Bible School (VBS). If any youth (grades 7-12) wants to help prepare murals and other props for the HUMC Vacation Bible School, contact a member of the youth team. We will begin working on them the first weekend in June. HUMC Vacation Bible School is August 2nd – 6th.
September-October Youth Group Fund-raisers: The Youth will sponsor a Pancake Breakfast in September and a Soup and Bread Luncheon on Saturday, October 2nd. If you want to contribute a pot of ‘soup’ or some homemade ‘bread’ for the Soup and Bread fundraiser please let us know, and we will contact you when the time gets closer to this event.
Recent Events
Sunday, May 23rd , was confirmation day for many of the 6th graders in the Youth Group. A special coffee hour celebrated the occasion, and provided the congregation with an opportunity to meet each confirmand.
May 7th – May 8th. Members of the HUMC Youth Group plus chaperones enjoyed the Christian concert at the Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prospect Park, NJ on May 7th. Some returned to HUMC for a sleep over and helped with the UMW tea on May 8th.
April 30th – May 1St. 30+ youth participated in the 30-Hour Famine event Friday evening, April 30th through Saturday, May 1St at the North Intermediate School gym. A special thank you to each of you who contributed to make the 30-Hour Famine a success. Over $4200 was collected and sent to World Vision. A few pictures from that event are included below.
